Female, Single, 30, seeks others with same affliction

My intention of this blog is to find other single, professional women out there and begin a conversation.

I want to talk about work, clothes, men, housing, investments, going to graduate school, I am sure I will think of more.

I say "affliction" loosely in the title; I don't think I am one of those woman who "needs" a man to survive or be whole but I am looking for a companion and it has come time for me to treat this desire as I would anything else I have wanted in my life - as a priority that takes planning and thought.

Today's Discussion Topic: Should I aim for a man in a specific profession?

I always thought dating a doctor would be nice because they would be very busy and I could maintain my own life but now I have gone out with a doctor and he hasn't called for two weeks he is so busy....maybe that is too busy?

Today's Question: How to find a happy medium? Meaning, a man who has a life, is serious about his profession (as am I) but isn't so distracted by all those things that he can't find any time for a women. Are all those guys already married?
